French actress and model born on September 28, 1934 in Paris, Brigitte
Bardot is also known simply as BB and considered as the embodiment of
the 1950s "sex kitten." Bardot burst onto the scene in 1957
in the sexy movie And God Created Women, which pushed the boundaries
of sex in film at the time, making her an overnight sensation. To this
day, the scene of Bardot dancing barefoot on a table remains one of
the most erotic scenes in the history of the cinema. Recognized for
popularizing bikini swimwear, she and Marilyn Monroe were the icons of
female sexuality in the 1950s and 1960s. In the 1970s Bardot
established herself as an animal rights activist. Her acting credits
include It Happened All Night (1960), Viva Marķa! (1965), and The
Edifying and Joyous Story of Colinot (1973), among others. |
